Virgínia Ana Belo

Virgínia Ana Belo (born June 19, 1971 in Dili , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . She is a member of the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) party. She is a member of the party's national executive committee (Conselho Diretiva Nacional CDN).

Career

Belo studied agriculture. She has been a member of the East Timorese national parliament since 2007 . Belo was a member of the Commission on Poverty Eradication, Rural and Regional Development and Gender Equality (Commission E) in the 2007 to 2012 legislative period and served on the Commission on Health, Education, Culture, Veterans and Gender Equality from 2012 to 2017 (Commission F).

At number 6 on the CNRT list, Belo succeeded in re-entering the national parliament of East Timor as a member of the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2017 . Here she became Secretary of the Commission on Constitutional Affairs, Justice, Public Administration, Local Jurisprudence and Anti-Corruption (Commission A). Since September 2017, Belo has also been the substitute delegate of the national group of the national parliament to the parliamentary assembly of the Community of Portuguese- Speaking Countries (CPLP). In the 2018 parliamentary elections , Belo missed entry into parliament on list position 48 of the Aliança para Mudança e Progresso (AMP), the joint list of CNRT, PLP and KHUNTO . At the end of June, Belo replaced MPs who gave up their seats in government. She is now a member of the Education, Health, Social Security and Gender Equality Commission (Commission F).
