Virgil Earp
Virgil Walter Earp (born July 18, 1843 in Hartford , Kentucky , † October 19, 1905 in Goldfield , Nevada ) was a Deputy United States Marshal .
He became known for his involvement in the OK Corral shooting with Doc Holliday and his two brothers Wyatt and Morgan Earp , in which he was seriously injured. Like his brother Wyatt, he is now an American legend . In 1905 Virgil Earp was hired as sheriff of Goldfield Nevada . However, he died of pneumonia a few months later. His brother Wyatt Earp, who was also in Goldfield, then left the city.
Virgil Earp was buried in River View Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA.
