Virginia from Poitu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Virginia von Poitu lived as a shepherdess in the 5th century in the region around Poitiers in France . Closer living conditions are in the dark of history. The people venerated them as saints over the centuries . The town of Sainte-Verge in the Deux-Sèvres department made her its patroness.

Her church feast day is January 7th.

There are suspicions that she could be the same person as Sigrid von Tonars .
