George Goschen, 1st Viscount Goschen

Viscount Goschen , of Hawkhurst in the County of Kent , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The Viscounts family home is Hilton House in Crowthorne in the Borough of Bracknell Forest in Berkshire .

Award

The title was created on December 18, 1900 for the politician George Joachim Goschen . He was descended from the Saxon publisher Georg Joachim Göschen on his grandfather's side and was Chancellor of the Exchequer in various governments from 1887 to 1892 and First Lord of the Admiralty from 1871 to 1874 and 1895 to 1900 during his long political career .

Today's title holder is his grandson Giles Goschen as the 4th Viscount.
