The Visegrád Battlegroup was set up as a temporary military unit of the Visegrád Group . It has meanwhile been restructured into a V4 EU Battlegroup (V4 EU BG) under the leadership of Poland and is available for worldwide operations by NATO and the EU .

Members and equipment

In 2016 the combat force consisted of approx. 3700 fighters:

Poland 1,870 Maneuver and combat troops
Czech Republic 728 Logistics troops , helicopter units , electronic combat support , medical services
Hungary 640 Pioneers , Military-Civil Cooperation
Slovakia 460 NBC defense
Ukraine 19th Liaison force
