Vistabella is a suburb of the municipality of La Secuita in Catalonia ( Spain ). It has 165 inhabitants (2011) and is located in the province of Tarragona .
location
Vistabella is about 1 km east of the N 240 national road. Tarragona and thus the coast are about 15 km south. It is approx. 5 km to the Autovia A 27 in the west.
history
The originally agricultural farm was previously claimed by the Santes Creus monastery . In 1298 half belonged to the Archbishop and Chapter of Tarragona and the other half to the aforementioned monastery.
Worth seeing
The Sagrat Cor church (" Sacred Heart "), built in the years 1918–1924 in the style of Modernism , was built according to plans by the architect Josep Maria Jujol . On a square floor plan, the building houses a vault based on parabolic arches and free-standing columns. The dome is hexagonal. The interior, which has three entrances, is equipped with extraordinary stucco work . In addition, several medieval streets with houses from the 17th and 18th centuries can be seen in the village.
