Vital Gawronski

Vital Gawronski (in some of his early publications: Vitaly Gawronsky ; born March 13, 1907 in Moscow , † 1989 ) was a Swiss economist and publicist .

Life

Gawronski graduated from high school in Bern and then studied economics at the University of Bern . He received his doctorate in 1935 with a thesis on the right of employees to have a say in companies .

He worked in the Federal Department of Economic Affairs and was secretary and research assistant for the Swiss Metalworkers' Association and worked for the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions . He also worked as the editor of the "Swiss Metal Workers Newspaper". Gawronski was acquainted with the Swiss socialist Gertrude Lörtscher . His best-known work is State Authority and People's Welfare , in which he vehemently opposed excessive government regulations in the economy (quite unusual for a trade unionist at the time). He last lived in Bern.
