Vitas Tomkus
Vitas Tomkus (born December 9, 1956 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian journalist and publisher , owner of the Lithuanian media group Respublikos Leidinių grupė .
Life
His brother is Gintara's Tomkus .
In 1971 he graduated from the Kristijonas Donelaitis -Mittelschule Klaipėda and 1971 to 1972, he studied at the Nautical College of Lithuania from 1973 to 1974 at the middle school in Tazovsky . From 1973 to 1974 he worked as a geologist. From 1977 to 1982 he completed his degree in journalism at the Vilniaus universitetas and worked as a journalist . In 1989 he founded the newspaper Respublika and from 1989 to 2004 from 2009 was its editor-in-chief. From 1997 he was director of his company UAB “Respublikos investicija”. From 2004 to 2009 he was CEO of the ELTA news agency .
