The Vitrashop Holding GmbH is a former internationally oriented group of companies for shop fitting , based in Weil am Rhein , Germany . The group consisted of the companies Visplay and Vizona, which were involved in the planning and furnishing of sales rooms, as well as Ansorg (lighting) and REGA Metallverarbeitung (shop fitting). In addition, there was a 49% stake in Rottmann GmbH in Weil am Rhein.

The companies of the group were positioned worldwide through branches. The most important production sites were in Weil am Rhein and in Táborfalva in Hungary .

Group structure

The Vitrashop was dissolved on December 31, 2015. The lighting specialist Ansorg remained independent alongside Vitra. The Visplay and Vizona companies were merged with Vitra .

Vitrashop Holding GmbH was a 100% subsidiary of Vitrashop Holding Switzerland, a stock corporation under Swiss law with its headquarters in Muttenz , Canton Basel-Landschaft , Switzerland .

Ansorg

Ansorg GmbH Mülheim an der Ruhr offers luminaires and lighting solutions for retail. The company develops luminaires, plans and implements lighting concepts. In addition to its headquarters, Ansorg has its own branches and further sales partners in nine countries worldwide.

Visplay

Visplay was a supplier of modular furnishing systems for retail and service companies. Visplay developed, produced and marketed shopfitting systems for furnishing salesrooms. In 1934 the company began developing and producing display and shop window items. These shopfitting systems are used to present sales goods. The company's sales companies were located in Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Middle East, India and the USA. In addition, Visplay was represented worldwide by an extensive network of partners.

Vizona

Vizona provided shopfitting solutions for retail and service companies. The range of services of Vizona included the technical concept development of a shop, prototype construction, procurement and production as well as assembly and installation of the shop furniture. The sales offices were located in Germany (Weil am Rhein and Langenfeld), Switzerland (Birsfelden), France (Paris), Great Britain (Watlington), and the Netherlands (Ouderkerk).

history

Vitrashop shares a common history with Vitra . The company's roots go back to 1934, when the company was founded by Willi Fehlbaum (* 1914). He initially took over a shop fitting company in Birsfelden near Basel and expanded it into a furniture construction company. Both business areas, shopfitting and furniture manufacturing, operated under the name Vitra at that time. After the end of the war, the production facilities were relocated to Weil am Rhein in Germany. The furniture range was further expanded in the 1960s and 1970s.

In 1984 two independent business areas were founded: shop fitting (Vitrashop) and furniture (Vitra). In 2001 Vitrashop became the companies Visplay (specialist for modular furnishing systems) and Vizona (specialist for customer-specific shopfitting solutions).

Ansorg GmbH (lighting solutions) has been part of the Vitrashop group since 2005.

In cooperation with architects, shopfitting systems, lighting solutions and full-service solutions were adapted and implemented to the branch, target group and architectural conditions. Furnishing concepts were u. a. Developed in the automotive, food, fashion, sports and banking sectors.

For example, Visplay had coined the Invisible Design philosophy , which placed the retailer's merchandising product in the foreground.

The group worked for clients such as Esprit , Opel , Klammerth, Sony and Karl Lagerfeld .
