Vice County of Aubusson

The vice-county of Aubusson , named after the city of Aubusson (Creuse) , was in the county of Marche . The upper valley of the Creuse up to the vicinity of Guéret , the valleys of the Taurion and the Vienne and the plateau de Millevaches with its southern foothills belonged to the vice-county .

From the 9th century, the vice-county of Aubusson was owned by the same family until Ranulphe V. d'Aubusson gave it to Hugo XI. sold by Lusignan .

  • Ranulphe I († after 934) was installed in 887 by King Odo of France as Vice Count of Aubusson; his father, who is not known by name, is referred to in 877 as consanguineus by Aldebert I, Vice Count of Limoges .
