Vladimír Hönig (born January 14, 1920 in Plzeň ; † April 8, 1999 ) was a Czech football player .

Club career

Hönig first played for Viktoria Plzeň , in 1941 the attacker switched to league rivals SK Baťa Zlín , where he was one of the best strikers in the league. His 25 goals in the 1942/43 season were not enough for the top scorer, Josef Bican was out of reach with 39 goals.

After this season Hönig went back to Plzeň and contributed to fourth place for the team with 24 goals. After the end of World War II, the striker initially stayed with Viktoria Plzeň, but in early 1946 he went back to Zlín. At the club, which later renamed itself Jiskra Gottwaldov, he ended his career in the mid-1950s.

Hönig scored 84 goals in 80 first division games for Baťa Zlín. With a total of 139 first division players, he is a member of the ligových kanonýrů club .

National team

Hönig played once for Czechoslovakia in 1946 . The striker played for 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat by the Yugoslav national team.
