Wladimir Wladimirowitsch But ( Russian Владимир Владимирович Бут ; born September 7, 1977 in Novorossiysk , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian football player .

biography

The midfielder and playmaker began his professional career at Chernomorets Novorossiysk and moved to Borussia Dortmund in 1994, where he only played in the amateur squad. Two years later, for the 1996/97 season, he was appointed to the professional team of Borussia Dortmund , where he played for four years. During this time, Ottmar Hitzfeld said of him that he was a "rough diamond". He was considered one of the greatest talents in Europe.

From July to October 2000 But played again only for the Borussia amateur team. Shortly thereafter, he moved to SC Freiburg , where he was under contract until 2003. This was followed by half a year without a contract, during which he rejected an offer from FC Erzgebirge Aue , for example .
