Vladimir Alexandrowitsch Jefimkin ( Russian Владимир Александрович Ефимкин ; born December 2, 1981 in Kuibyshev , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian cyclist .

Athletic career

Jefimkin turned pro at Barloworld in 2005 . In his first year he won stages in the Tour of Aragon , in the Four Days of Dunkirk and a stage and the overall classification in the Volta a Portugal . In the UCI Europe Tour 2005 he finished eighth. His twin brother Alexander Yefimkin was also a professional cyclist. In 2008 he won the ninth stage of the Tour de France .

Effimkin ended his career in mid-2010 in order to be able to take care of his family more according to his own statements. In July 2011, however, he signed a contract with the American Type 1 team , in which his twin brother also drove, but ended his sporting career after six months.
