Vladimir Kaspé

Vladimir Kaspé (* 1910 in Harbin ; † 1996 in Mexico City ) was a Russian - Mexican architect.

Life

Kaspé left Russia in 1926 and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris , where he met Mario Pani , who invited him to work in Mexico, where he emigrated in 1942. In Mexico he was editor from 1942 to 1950 for the trade journal “Arquitectura / México” and partner of the French “L'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui”, for which he took over the accounting for the French readership of the Mexican edition. In 1946 he took on the Mexican citizenship.

He was a professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Escuela Mexicana de Arquitectura, Diseño y Comunicación (EMADYC) of the Universidad La Salle in Mexico City.

In Mexico City, Kaspé designed the “Super Servicio Lomas” commercial complex, the Franco-Mexican high school “Liceo Franco Mexicano”, the Israelite sports center “Centro Deportivo Israelita” (CDI), the central administration building of the supermarket chain “Supermercados SA”, among other things Laboratories of the "Grupo Roussel", the access bridge to the "Panteón Dolores" ( Dolores Cemetery ) and the service hub of the Conjunto Habitacional "El Rosario" (1950–54).
