Vladimir Rakić (born March 15, 1977 in Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian volleyball player .

Career

Rakić began his sporting career in 1993 with OK Partizan Belgrade . Three years later he moved to OK Obilić Belgrade within the capital . From 1998 to 2000 he played for Milicionar Belgrade . The junior international then went abroad for the first time to the French club Beauvais Oise . In 2002 he returned to his homeland and played for OK Red Star Belgrade for two years . With this club he won the national championship in 2003 as well as in 2005 with his new team OK Budućnost Podgorica . In 2006 he was signed by the German Bundesliga club evivo Düren . In his first season he contributed to evivo becoming German runner-up for the third time in a row. In 2008 Düren reached the final in the DVV Cup with Rakić . In 2009 the Serb moved to the newly promoted Bundesliga TV Bühl together with Heriberto Quero . After the Bühler made it into the playoffs in 2010, it was only enough for eleventh place in the following season. In 2011, Rakić became the coach of the club's first women's team in the Association League.
