Heriberto Quero (born March 6, 1977 in Venezuela ) is a German volleyball player of Venezuelan origin.
Career
Quero left his home country in 1992 and went to the Argentine club River Plate Buenos Aires . In Europe he first played for Italian and Spanish clubs. With Las Palmas de Gran Canaria he met his future club, the German Bundesliga club evivo Düren , at a European Cup tournament in Montpellier in December 2001 . However, the Venezuelan, who completed a total of 64 missions for the national team , initially returned to Buenos Aires. In the summer of 2003, Düren finally managed to sign the main attacker. Quero was a major reason why the Düren team reached the playoff final for the German championship for the first time in the 2004/05 season. In the preliminary round of the Champions League 2005/06 he became the most successful point collector and scored 41 points in the final home win of the Düren team against Sisley Treviso . Because of his great jumping ability, the Venezuelan was nicknamed "Helicopter Too" by fans. Düren was able to successfully defend the German runner-up in 2006 and 2007 with Quero twice. In addition, evivo reached the final of the DVV Cup in 2008 . In 2009, the attacker, who had meanwhile assumed German citizenship, switched to the newly promoted Bundesliga TV Bühl . The team from the Black Forest reached the playoffs in the first season. After only reaching eleventh place in 2011, Quero left Bühl. He came back to Düren, where he no longer played with evivo in the Bundesliga, but with the third team of Düren TV in the major league. Since 2012 Quero played for the Oshino Volleys Eltmann in the 3rd League East . In 2014 he was promoted to the second Bundesliga South with Eltmann .
