Voci del Grigione italiano (Voice of the Italian Grisons ) is a radio broadcast by Rete Uno , the first RSI station .

It is the oldest weekly radio show in the world. It was first broadcast in its current form on November 25, 1941, after two years of introduction.

history

In 1931 the Swiss Broadcasting Company, today SRG SSR , allowed Italian-speaking Switzerland to operate its own radio station: the national broadcaster Monte Ceneri . The studio was set up in Lugano . The program was called “La nostra Mesolcina ”, the first broadcast was dedicated to the folk songs of the valley.

In 1939 the program was renamed “Quarto d'oro del Grigione italiano” in order to strengthen the identity of the four Italian-speaking Graubünden valleys.

The broadcast was threatened in its existence several times and was seen here and there as "superfluous". Numerous representatives of the Italian-speaking minority in Graubünden resisted. In a radio program report from April 1949, "Voci" was named one of the most important of the station and in 1950 it was decided to keep the broadcast. Since 1980 «Voci» has had a correspondent in the canton capital Chur .

After the resignation of the long-time director Fausto Tognola, difficult times followed: The program should be redesigned or even canceled; A woman from Ticino should be appointed as head. Thanks to Tognola's commitment to the Chur government and the advocacy of the Poschiavo government council Claudio Lardi, the program remained unchanged.

program

"Voci" informed every Friday 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on current topics from the Misox, Calanca , Bergell , Puschlav . News from the Italian Valtellina and Valchiavenna is now also reported, as these regions are closely connected with the southern valleys of Graubünden. There are also live broadcasts to describe political and economic situations, to discuss opinions before elections and votes, as well as to present projects and promote local initiatives.

“Voci del Grigione italiano” is followed by around half of the RSI listeners. It is one of the ten most popular podcast downloads, which means that it is popular with boys too.

The musical signet is the melody of the song "Popoli ci affratella, l'italica favella".
