content

Each issue is dedicated to a central topic such as B. “Bündner Landwirtschaft” (1/2017) or “Bündner Sonne” (2/2017). The articles are prepared according to popular science and are written by experts, especially historians , geologists or linguists .

Two pages of each issue ( Chapis Vus rumantsch? = Do you understand Romansh? And Pagina Grigionitaliana = Italian- Graubünden page) are reserved for the two cantonal minority languages Romansh and Italian .

status

Although it is sold commercially, Terra Grischuna has the status of a semi-official, culture-defining magazine thanks to its display on the trains of the Rhaetian Railway and in the cantonal offices.

history

The magazine was founded in 1942 by Balz Fetz, a Bündner who emigrated to Basel. It was aimed primarily at Bündner in Switzerland and was initially published 4–6 times a year. In the early years, the subtitle was “Heimatnachrichten”, later and until today (as of 2018) “Nature, culture and leisure in Graubünden”. The publishing house stayed in Basel until 1968 and for another 30 years in Bottmingen , Basel , after which it was relocated to Chur . Today the newspaper is published by Somedia Production AG.

Terra Grischuna has been the official publication organ of "Pro Raetia" since 1955. In 1983 Terra Grischuna was the first periodical magazine to publish a text in Rumantsch Grischun . On January 1, 2007, Südostschweiz Medien took over the magazine.
