The Vogel & Noot AG was founded in 1872 by Austrian industrial companies in Wartberg im Mürztal , community Santa Barbara in Mürztal . The first products of the company founders Friedrich Vogel, Hugo Noot and Hermann Bührlen were shovels and spades. Plowshares were added 25 years after the company was founded. Little by little, more agricultural machines were added. The production of radiators began in 1929.

In 2000 the company with 3000 employees achieved a turnover of around 310 million euros and had 13 production sites. The most important business area at that time was heating technology with around 43% of group sales. This division was sold to Rettig ICC in 2002 and merged into today's Rettig Germany GmbH in 2009 . 36% of sales came from the production of metal packaging, especially cans and canisters. The Packaging division was sold to Silgan Holdings in 2010 for EUR 210 million .

In 2014, the formerly joint company presented itself as three parts that continued to produce in the traditional buildings in the two locations in the Mürz Valley, even if they were also incorporated into other corporate groups.

To the north of Grazer-Strasse in Wartberg there are around 15,000 m² of factory buildings. Only the hall in which Vogel & Noot Technologies was located is currently unused.

1. Vogel & Noot Landmaschinen GmbH & Co KG (and Vogel & Noot Landmaschinen GmbH) works opposite, with 12,000 m² of buildings south of Landesstraße L 118, with the address Grazer-Straße 1 in Wartberg and the back is the right bank of the Mürz.

2. Rettig Austria GmbH ("VOGEL & NOOT Headquarter") produces the radiators in Vogel & Noot-Straße 4, Wartberg, exactly opposite on the left bank (south) of the Mürz on 25,000 m².

To the east of the farms, the road bridge crosses the Mürz, which flows west. The power station dam is located 120 m downstream, another 120 m further west is a footbridge and a pipe bridge, which also connect the two company sites.

3. As before, the tin packaging will be produced three kilometers to the northeast in Mitterdorf im Mürz Valley, Veitscher Straße 4 (on the right Mürzufer). Now from Silgan Metal Packaging - Mitterdorf GmbH , part of Silgan Holdings and with management in Vienna.

Vogel & Noot Landmaschinen GmbH & Co KG produced tillage equipment, seed drills, flail choppers and field sprayers. In November 2008, Agricultural Machinery GesmbH took over the plant protection equipment division from Holder . From 2009 the company belonged to CTP / AgromashHolding. The insolvency of Vogel & Noot Landmaschinen GmbH & Co KG became known at the beginning of August 2016, and restructuring proceedings with self-administration were opened at the Leoben Commercial Court. The aim was to continue the company with a reduced workforce from 110 to 80 employees. In September 2016 the company was broken up and the plow production with the plant in Mosonmagyaróvár , Hungary , was sold to Amazone . The Belgian company Beyne acquired the Wartberg site (wear parts production) and the sales company in Romania. The German Präzi-Flachstahl AG secured the location in Törökszentmiklós (cultivator production).

Between 1997 and 2003 the German plow manufacturer Niemeyer was also part of the Vogel & Noot Group.
