The Turnersee bird park is a bird park in the Sankt Primus district of the municipality of Sankt Kanzian am Klopeiner See in Carinthia , Austria .
park
The bird park, which opened in a quiet location in 1982, is managed by Emanuel Zupanc, whose father began keeping a few wild birds privately in the 1950s. In 1998 the facility was expanded to include a petting zoo. There is also an adventure playground and a buffet. The area now covers around 20,000 m². With around 1,000 rebred birds from 340 species, it is the largest and most species-rich bird park in Austria. The park's own rearing station follows the principle of not keeping any animals that have been taken from nature. The park is open to visitors in the summer months.
