Vojislav Vujović

Vojislav Vujović (* 1897 , † November 3, 1936 in Moscow ) was a Yugoslav communist from Serbia.

Life

Vujović joined the Serbian Social Democratic Party in 1912 and the Russian Bolsheviks in May 1918 . He organized illegal communist youth organizations in France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland and was chairman of the Communist Youth International after its Second Congress in 1921.

From the Fifth Congress of the Communist International in 1925 he was a member of the Executive Committee (EKKI). In 1926 he joined the Zinoviev supporters in the opposition. In 1927 he was expelled from the party and exiled to Arkhangelsk and Saratov . He capitulated and was re-admitted to the CPSU in 1930.

Vujović was arrested in 1933 and shot in Moscow on November 3, 1936 . His wife and two brothers, Radomir and Grgur, were also killed in the Stalinist Great Terror . His son Vladimir became a well-known actor in France under the name Michel Auclair .
