Sprockhoff no. 842

Volbers Hünensteine ( Sprockhoff No.  842 - also called Hüven-Nord ) is a well-preserved megalithic complex in an oval enclosure that only occurs near Emsland chambers . The megalithic complex from the Neolithic was created by the funnel beaker culture (TBK) between 3500 and 2800 BC. Built in BC. Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

The 15 meter long chamber of the passage grave , the access stones of which have not been preserved, is located 500 meters north of Hüven in the Emsland district in Lower Saxony . The center 1.5 meters wide, tapering to one meter at both ends, is formed by 25 supporting stones, on which eight of the once eleven or twelve cap stones rest. The 22 × 10 meter wide border of the east-west oriented facility is slightly shifted on the north side, but is still almost completely preserved. The plant of the western group of the funnel beaker culture was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. Chr.

Hüven-Süd

About one kilometer south of Hüven, in the remains of a 22 × 16 meter hill, near the road to Lähden, there is another passage grave (Sprockhoff No. 843 - also called Hüven Süd ). Nine partially offset bearing stones and three cap stones in situ form the five by two meter chamber. Near there are ten up to one meter high mounds .
