Voldemar Panso

Voldemar Panso (born November 30, 1920 in Tomsk , † December 27, 1977 in Tallinn ) was an Estonian actor , screenwriter and educator.

Life

Panso was educated at the Reval State School of Applied Arts (Estonian: Tallinn) and the Anatoly Wassiljewitsch Lunacharsky State Institute for Theater Arts in Moscow . He founded a state youth theater for which he also worked as a director. He worked as a director at the State Academic Theater in Tallinn and was head of the Department of Drama at the State Conservatory.

In 1977 he was awarded as a People's Artist of the USSR . A commemorative plaque is attached to the Estonian drama school at Dom-Schulstrasse (Toom-Kooli) 4 in Tallinn. A memorial stone stands in front of his former home in the Kivimäe (Steinberg) district .

He was buried in the forest cemetery. His tomb is a listed building .
