Hullumeelsus (in German madness ) is the title of an Estonian feature film from 1968.
Emergence
The director of the satirical world war drama was the Estonian actor, screenwriter and director Kaljo Kiisk (1925–2007). The cryptic film was shot in black and white. It premiered in Estonia in 1969.
Hullumeelsus was only censored when it was shown on screen in Estonia during the Soviet era. The film was not shown in the other republics of the Soviet Union.

An unnamed country during World War II . The German Wehrmacht is leading a brutal occupation regime. There is an insane asylum in a small town. German soldiers come to take the inmates for a "walk" in the forest.
But the planned extermination operation is stopped at the last minute: " Obersturmbannführer " Windisch, a former gymnastics teacher, comes to the sanatorium and introduces himself as a Gestapo employee. An anonymous letter to the Gestapo had claimed that a British spy was hiding among the mentally ill. This must absolutely be taken alive.
Windisch sets to work to find out the English agent among the residents. In his search for the patient, he poses as a doctor. During his conversations with the mentally ill it becomes more and more unclear who is “crazy” and who is “normal” ...
In the end it turns out that the senior doctor had written the anonymous letter to save the lives of his charges. There was no spy. He had fooled the Germans.
