Volker Backert

Volker Backert (born November 4, 1962 in Coburg ) is a German author who writes crime novels and short stories.

biography

After high school graduation in 1982 at the Meranier-Gymnasium Lichtenfels and military service , he studied from 1983 in Munich at the Bavarian civil service college for social administration with a degree in administrative management (FH) . From 1986 he worked as a team leader in agricultural social insurance in Bayreuth. In 1989 he moved to the city of Coburg, where he first worked in the social welfare office, before becoming head of the public security department in 1995 and working closely with the police for eighteen years. He has been working at the Coburg registry office since 2013. His works are published by Emons Verlag in Cologne .

Backert is a member of Syndikat eV , the association of German-speaking crime writers.

The father of a daughter and a son is divorced and lives in Lichtenfels.

The short thriller Last Words was included in the anthology Finsterböses Bayern in 2014, the net proceeds of which will go to the Bavarian Hospice and Palliative Association.
