Volker Brockmann

Volker Brockmann (born November 19, 1952 in Halvestorf ) is a German politician. From 2003 to 2008 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . He is married and has two children.

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Brockmann studied biology, geography and sport in Göttingen for teaching at primary and secondary schools. From 1978 to 1982 he worked as a teacher at the Bückeburg orientation level , then as a teacher at the north orientation level in Hameln until his election to the state parliament .

politics

Brockmann has been a member of the SPD since 1976 . Since 1979 he has been on the board of the local association Halvestorf / Haverbeck and has been its chairman since 2000. In 1981 he became a member of the local council of Halvestorf. From 1986 he is also councilor and alderman of the city of Hameln. There he was only deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1996 until he took over the chairmanship in 2011. In 2003 Brockmann was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament via the state list, to which he was a member until 2008.
