Volker Wodzich (born November 5, 1985 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German Taekwondoin who starts in the heavyweight division.

His first international title fights denied Wodzich at the Junior World Championship in 2002 in Heraklion , where he reached the quarter-finals. Three years later he took part in the adult world championship for the first time in Madrid , but suffered an opening defeat in the over 84 kilogram class. Wodzich was able to fight for gold in the heavyweight division at the 2010 military world championships in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and win his first international title. At the European Championships in 2012 , he won his first European Championship medal in the class over 87 kilograms with bronze after beating Alexandros Nikolaidis in the quarter-finals . Volker Wodzich won his first world medal in 2006 in Thailand (Bangkok) at the World Cup in the weight category over 87 kg. Volker Wodzich won bronze.

Wodzich trained for many years in his hometown at the Kim Sports Academy . Since 2005 he has been a member of the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Sonthofen and has also been part of the Allgäu taekwondo community since then . He is multiple German champion.
