Volkhard Klinger

Volkhard Klinger (* 1965 ) is a German computer scientist. Since 2002 he has held the chair for technical informatics and embedded systems at the FHDW Hannover .

biography

Klinger completed a degree in electrical engineering from 1985 to 1991 with a focus on general electrical engineering and integrated circuits at RWTH Aachen University and was a research assistant at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg from 1991 to 1995 , in the field of computer engineering 2. In 1995 he received his doctorate. Ing. with the topic of "network simulation on multicomputers", then until 2000 he was project manager and deputy head of department in the field of system technology, ASIC design and control systems in the Helmholtz group at the Karlsruhe Research Center and at DESY in Hamburg. His task was the system integration as well as the design and implementation of control and control systems. From 2000 to 2002 Klinger was department head of the Digital Engineering Center Braunschweig, sci-worx GmbH and responsible for ASIC design in the field of encryption systems and serial bus systems .

Since October 2002 Klinger has been Professor of Technical Computer Science and Embedded Systems at the FHDW Hanover. He also works as a freelance consultant in the field of system and hardware design. His research and consulting focus are the design and synthesis of hardware structures, system on a chip , fast prototyping, bus systems, distributed systems , automation technology and hardware-related software engineering . He completed research stays at CERN , Fermilab , Brookhaven National Laboratory and Jefferson Lab and is a visiting lecturer at the Institute for Integrated Circuits at the Technical University of Hamburg . Klinger is the author of publications on system architectures and control systems.
