As a cooperative bank, Volksbank Meßkirch belongs to the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken finance group and is therefore the security scheme of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks e. V. (BVR) affiliated. The business area of Volksbank Meßkirch extends in the north from the Danube valley to Hohenfels in the south and from Worndorf in the west to Göggingen in the east with the municipalities of Meßkirch , Leibertingen , Hohenfels , Sauldorf and Wald .
history
The history of the bank, which is one of the oldest established credit unions in Baden, began on April 1, 1864. According to an article in the Oberbadischer Grenzbote, the supervisory board member at the time, PJ Kleiner, reported at the thirtieth general meeting on April 18, 1894 in a "historical report" about the establishment as follows: “At the beginning of the 1960s, the then Herr Oberamtmann von Stoesser organized so-called citizens' evenings, which were held every month and animated by lectures by the civil servants, teachers, etc. The main topics, held by Mr. von Stoesser, mostly dealt with the formation of associations and owed them their lives to the advance payment association, the trade association and the sick association. After several discussions about the purposes of an advance payment association and its great importance for the public in need of money, both farmers and tradespeople, the following 23 local residents united to form an advance payment association: Heinrich Anbrandt, Baum Aktuar; Heinrich Beck, on the "lion"; Matthias Bosch, master carpenter; Adolf Diener, master baker; Josef Eberle, master potter; Flaig, saddle master; Karl Flach, master saddler; Johann Fröhlich, master carpenter; Josef Glattes, master glazier; Alois Gröber, master carpenter; Jakob Hegele, businessman; Karl Heudorf, hat maker; Johann Hornstein, master cooper; PJ Kleiner, merchant; Josef Mayer, Ziegler; Heinrich Mayer, gold worker; Emil Nabenhauer, master bottle maker; JB Roder, on the "eagle"; Josef Roth, businessman; Fidel Sauter, master carpenter; Xaver Singer, master stoner and G. v. Stoesser, chief bailiff. "
The two following excerpts from minutes from the early days show that the advance club was urgently needed, but also had to struggle with considerable starting difficulties. “The founding of the association came at a difficult time, a time of trouble. Truly lucky that it came about at least in one of these. Where would it have been possible for the individual, at a time when money seemed to have disappeared, when it was hardly possible to get 8-10% money against the greatest securities, here in Messkirch 35,000 guilders at low interest rates the repayment at any time even in small amounts? Impossible, hardly even at this exorbitant interest rate. "
In another protocol that follows: “Of course, the association, which was founded at a time of great money squeeze and which still had to overcome the mistrust with which everything new is received, initially had to struggle with great difficulties in order to win the advances to raise the necessary funds. "
Initial and continuing education
The training offer at Volksbank Meßkirch ranges from the 2.5-year training as a bank clerk to the shortened training as a financial assistant to a degree at the DHBW for a Bachelor of Arts.
Cooperative financial group of the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken
The bank is part of the cooperative financial group Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and a member of the Federal Association of German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken (BVR) and its security scheme.
