The Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG Nuremberg (VR Bank Nürnberg) is a cooperative financial institution whose business area in the metropolitan area Nuremberg and parts of the counties Nürnberger Land and the city of Stein near Nuremberg is located.

VR Bank Nürnberg has 5 competence centers (Am Tullnaupark, Katzwang, Schwaig, Stein, Wendelstein), 10 branches (Aufseßplatz, Behringersdorf, Deutenbach, Diepersdorf, Eibach, Johannis, Großreuth-Gebersdorf, Herpersdorf, Kornburg, Königstraße), 3 self-service Offices (Germersheimer Strasse, Äußere Sulzbacher Strasse) and 2 ATMs in the Cinecitta and in the City Park Center in the region. Since 2015, VR Bank has had a mobile ATM that is used for changing events (summer in the city, folk festival, children's Christmas, etc.).

history

VR Bank Nürnberg emerged from several previously independent cooperative banks.

In 1893 the Raiffeisenbank was founded in Behringersdorf / Schwaig , which in 1973 merged with the Raiffeisenbank Stein to form the Raiffeisenbank Nürnberg. In 1974 the Raiffeisenkassen Kornburg and Wendelstein completed the Raiffeisenbank Nürnberg.

Volksbank Nürnberg was founded in 1925 as Fränkische Gewerbebank eGmbH. In 1940 the name was changed to Volksbank Nürnberg, in 1943 the merger with the savings and advance payment association St. Johannis (Nürnberg) .

The Raiffeisenkasse Katzwang was also founded in 1893 as a registered cooperative with unlimited liability (eGmuH). In 1967 the name was changed to Raiffeisenbank Katzwang.

Bäckerbank Nürnberg eG was founded in 1903 as a financial service provider for the bakeries located in Nuremberg and the surrounding area. In the 1960s, however, it opened up to normal private customers.

Mergers

In 2000, Raiffeisenbank Nürnberg merged with Volksbank Nürnberg to form VR Bank Nürnberg.

Cooperations
