As a cooperative bank, Volksbank Zuffenhausen eG belongs to the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken finance group and is affiliated with Institutssicherung GmbH and the additional voluntary security scheme of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks.
The business area of Volksbank Zuffenhausen extends over the two Stuttgart districts of Zuffenhausen (with the districts of Freiberg, Mitte, Mönchfeld, Rot and Zazenhausen) and Stammheim as well as the municipality of Möglingen. The bank has around 27,000 customers, around 12,000 of whom are also members of the bank.
The main purpose and task of the cooperative is the economic promotion and support of its members.
history
On October 3, 1921, the Gewerb- und Handelsbank eGmbH Zuffenhausen was founded by 34 members. On January 5, 1922, it was opened in the rooms rented at the time in Bahnhofstrasse 58 (today's Unterländer Strasse 58). The 34 founding members have grown to 12,166 members today, although the structure of the members has changed significantly over the decades. The group of private customers in particular has increased significantly. Crafts and tradesmen from Zuffenhausen and industrial companies are also members of the bank.

Volksbank Zuffenhausen trains bankers and financial assistants.
Foundation, endowment
On October 3, 2011, Volksbank Zuffenhausen established the “Foundation of Volksbank Zuffenhausen eG”. The purpose of the foundation is to promote research and science, art and culture, education and training, home care, youth welfare, care for the elderly, public health, sport, charitable and church purposes in the business area of Volksbank Zuffenhausen eG. At the time of establishment, the foundation's assets consisted of cash assets of 150,000 euros.
