VVN memorial

The park was laid out along the eastern peene that crosses it. In the north-eastern part of the park there is a VVN memorial , which was originally erected as a monument to heroes and was intended to commemorate the fallen from the First World War . It was planned by the city council and architect Erich Tietböhl and inaugurated on August 25, 1929. In 1947 and 1948, the city redesigned it into a memorial for those persecuted by the Nazi regime. She had two cuboids, a row of pewter as well as the writings and symbols removed and added the inscription "To honor the dead - to duty for the living". In the 21st century, the Malchin Heimatverein is trying to restore the original condition, as there is another VVN memorial in the cemetery.

There is an animal enclosure to the south of the monument.
