Wolfgang Luy

Wolfgang Luy (* 1949 in Trier ) is a German sculptor .

life and work

Wolfgang Luy was born in Trier. He did an apprenticeship as a photographer from 1966 to 1969 and then studied photography at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences until 1974 . He completed his studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Klaus Rinke in 1980. At the beginning of the 1980s, Wolfgang Luy developed space-related slat construction and, since 1972, wall and floor sculptures. From 1989 Wolfgang Luy was professor for sculpture and three-dimensional design, from 1996 to 2000 rector / president of the Offenbach am Main University of Design .
