Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup

The Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup was a racing series held from 2010 to 2014 as part of the DTM's supporting program , which enabled young talents as well as motorsport legends and prominent guest starters in professional racing under the same conditions. In terms of motorsport and technology, the cup was one of the brand cups . The series replaced the ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup , which was held until 2009.

The 2.0 liter TSI engine of the Scirocco Cup was operated with bio natural gas and was therefore considered the most environmentally friendly racing car in the world. The drivers were protected by a roll cage, a fire extinguishing system in accordance with FIA standards, a racing seat with a padded head protector, a six-point seat belt and the HANS system .
