Vom Donaustrande is a Schnellpolka by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 356). The work was performed for the first time on April 6, 1873 in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein .

Remarks

The polka was put together from motifs from the operetta Carnival in Rome . The work thus joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 357 , 358 , 359 and 360 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. The premiere took place as part of a concert to mark the 50th anniversary of the Strauss Chapel, once founded by Johann Strauss (father) . The polka was well received by the audience.
