The Quadrille was premiered on the occasion of the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 . The rotunda that gave it its name was a domed structure on the exhibition grounds. The exact date of the premiere is not known. Many events were postponed several times that May due to bad weather. In general, the whole world exhibition was overshadowed by a number of unfavorable factors. For a long time there was bad weather, a cholera epidemic and a stock market crash.
