The bat quadrille is a quadrille by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 363). The exact date and place of the premiere are not known. The premiere probably took place in June 1874.

Remarks

The work was compiled based on motifs from the operetta Die Fledermaus , which premiered in 1874 . It thus joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 362 , 365 , 366 , 367 and 368 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. In the quadrille, Prince Orlofsky's couplet, I like to invite guests (S 'is my custom) , Adele's song, I play the innocence of the country , Rosalind's song, My Lord, what do you think? of me , as well as the numbers, I remember you with longing, dear Rosalinde ; Oh dear , how touched me this and my beautiful big birdhouse . The Quadrille, like the operetta, enjoyed lasting success and is still performed to this day.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 5 minutes and 22 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
