Tik-tak polka

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tik-Tak-Polka is a quick polka by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 365). The work was first performed on September 11, 1874 in Vienna's Volksgarten .

Remarks

The polka was put together based on motifs from the operetta Die Fledermaus . The work thus joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 362 , 363 , 366 , 367 and 368 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. The tik- tak polka got its name from the clock duet in the second act of the bat . This motif also represents the main theme of the polka. However, the composer also quotes other passages of the operetta such as B. the song How quickly the hours flee away from the 2nd act finale. In addition, the numbers Kein Verzeih'n, Eisenstein and Spiel 'ich die innocence from the country are briefly alluded to from the third act .

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 2 minutes and 46 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
