The banking house Gebrüder Molenaar was founded in 1812 as the first banking business in Krefeld . However, the importance of the Krefeld economy was not so great at that time that the profit from the banking business would have been enough. So were forwarding and trade operated in addition Commission. The situation only improved with the upswing of the Krefeld textile industry and the growing industrialization of the Rhineland .

In 1815 Hermann von Beckerath , who later became a well-known Krefeld politician, joined the bank as an apprentice and quickly rose to become a partner (1833). On January 10, 1870, the Molenaar brothers company was converted into a limited partnership . Six years later, on August 8, 1876, the “A. Molenaar Co. Commanditgesellschaft auf Actien ” . Bankhaus Molenaar worked in this form until 1904. Then this oldest Krefeld bank was transferred to the branch of Bergisch Märkische Bank, which had meanwhile been established in Krefeld .

The economic upswing of the 1830s gave co-owner Hermann von Beckerath the opportunity to set up his own business and on August 15, 1838 to found Beckerath-Heilmann's second banking business in Krefeld . From 1861 onwards, his son-in-law Adolf von Randow became a partner. Commerzienrat Conrad Wilhelm von der Leyen was a limited partner from the start . After his departure (1863) the company became an open trading company ( OHG ). On January 1, 1861, Julie Jentges joined the company as a limited partner. From that time on, personally liable partners were the couple from Randow. After a certain heyday, the failure of a larger loan led to the liquidation of the “von Beckerath-Heilmann” bank on August 8, 1901. It was also taken over by Bergisch Märkische Bank.
