Pre- and post-supervision

The advantages and Nachaufsicht are tactical measures before and after a major police operation . It serves both internal police interests (control of events) and the public good by containing security disruptions and above all the control (overview) of what is happening.

Pre-supervision (sometimes also called pre-investigation) is about protecting the operations command (e.g. operations manager, police officer ) from surprises, be it in the presence of (potential) interferers or at the location of a focal point . He and his staff should find the emergency room as they expect after assessing the situation at the start of the mission.

The purpose of follow-up supervision is to prevent or remedy disruptions occurring for a special reason after an operation until the situation has completely normalized again.

In closed operations , a separate section is usually responsible for pre- and post-supervision .

Example: In a Bundesliga match, the venue is filled with forces at various points five hours in advance. They watch what is happening, e.g. B. Wandering fan groups, type of fans and direction of movement.

Within the police force in Germany, PDV 100 (management and deployment of the police) must be observed.
