Vorarlberg State Fire Brigade Museum
The Vorarlberg State Fire Brigade Museum in the Vorarlberg Museum World ( market town of Frastanz ) is housed on around 600 m² of exhibition space in the former company building of the Ganahl textile works (see: Johann Josef Ganahl ) in the "Wollaschopf" (former cotton warehouse). The fire brigade museum is located in a spatial combination with several museums .
The Vorarlberg State Fire Brigade Museum was opened on October 4, 2013.
It essentially consists of a 50 m long vehicle hall in which 16 historic fire engines and extinguishing devices as well as rescue equipment are shown.
Partner museums are the Styrian Fire Brigade Museum in Groß Sankt Florian , the Upper Austrian Fire Brigade Museum in St. Florian and the German Fire Brigade Museum in Fulda -Auen.
Sponsoring association
The Vorarlberg State Fire Brigade Museum is supported and looked after by volunteers as part of a private association. The main task of the association is to maintain and promote the fire service by researching the fire service history of Vorarlberg and collecting items related to fire and rescue services.
The area of activity is primarily determined in Vorarlberg and Austria as well as neighboring countries.
The chairman of the association is Peter Schmid.
