Vorderbuchberg is a village in the Neukirchen market near the Holy Blood in the Upper Palatinate district of Cham .
geography
The village of Vorderbuchberg is a street village and is about 1 km north of Neukirchen bei Heiligen Blut . Vorderbuchberg is located on the 635 m high Buchberg, which is part of the name of the two villages Vorderbuchberg and Hinterbuchberg. The hamlet of Anger, on the road from Vorderbuchberg to Hofberg, belongs to the village.
history
On April 9, 1086, Emperor Heinrich IV gave several villages, including a Buchberg, to the Archbishop of Regensburg, Friedrich II. It cannot be said with certainty whether this is identical to Vorder- or Hinterbuchberg. A village with the name Langen-Puochberg is mentioned for the first time in the sources in 1270, a second time in a letter of tithes from 1383. Around 1300 the name Oberbuchberg also appears in a tax register as a separate settlement. From 1557 the name Vorderbuchberg appears for both settlements, which had evidently grown together into one place. The name Upper Village, which is still in use today, is likely to have its origin in this.
The community was founded in 1818. The government successfully defended itself against a planned incorporation into Warzenried in 1869. With the regional reform in Bavaria, Vorderbuchberg was incorporated into Neukirchen bei Heiligen Blut on July 1, 1971 . On July 1, 1972, the Kötzting district was dissolved. Its communities were assigned to the Cham district .
