Preview (in the English original version Preview ) is originally from NeXTStep developed and later by Apple inherited program for displaying and editing of images for display and annotation of PDF files and to control the connected scanner . It supports the file formats PDF , JPEG , JPEG 2000 , TIFF , GIF , PICT , BMP , SGI , TGA , PSD , ICO , ICNS , PNG and EPS , among others .
Preview is integrated into macOS by default , the current version is 11.0 and part of macOS Catalina .
Functions
Preview can view, edit, and export images and PDF documents to various formats. It is also possible to add markings , lines, shapes and text to a document using the extension . It is also possible to insert notes and signatures.
