Vyacheslav Rychkov (called Slava Rychkov, Russian Вячеслав Рычков , transcription Vyacheslav Rytschkow ; born May 27, 1975 in Kuibyshev ) is a Russian-Italian mathematical physicist and mathematician.

Rychkov studied from 1991 at the Moscow Institute for Physics and Technology with a diploma in 1996 and 1996 to 1998 at the University of Jena . He received his PhD in mathematics under Elias Stein ( Estimates for Oscillatory Integral Operators ) in 2002 at Princeton University , where he had been since 1998 . As a post-doctoral student he was at the University of Amsterdam and from 2005 to 2007 at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa . In 2007 he became assistant professor at the Scuola Normale Superiore and in 2009 professor at the École normal supérieure (Paris) and University of Paris VI. From 2012 he is also in the theory department at CERN .

He deals with conformal field theory (with applications in the three-dimensional Ising model , conformal bootstrap ), AdS / CFT correspondence, electroweak symmetry breaking, phenomenology beyond the standard model , generation of black holes in colliders such as the LHC .

In 2014 he received the New Horizons in Physics Prize for the development of new techniques in conformal field theory, and in 2019 the Prix Mergier-Bourdeix .

He has Russian and Italian citizenship.
