Vytautas Šustauskas

Vytautas Šustauskas (born March 19, 1945 in Kražiai , Kelmė County ) is a Lithuanian politician, founder of the Lietuvos laisvės sąjunga (LLL) party.

education

In 1964 Vytautas Šustauskas graduated from the shipbuilding college in Klaipėda . He then studied at the Klaipėda Faculty of the Kaunas Polytechnic Institute (1968–1969) and at the Klaipėda Marine School (1970–1971).

In 2005 Vytautas Šustauskas also completed a bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Klaipėda University .

Political activity

1995–1997, 1997–2000, 2000–2003 Vytautas Šustauskas was a member of the Kaunas City Council and from April 13, 2000 to October 30, 2000 mayor of this city. 2000–2004 he was a member of the Seimas .

1989–1992 Vytautas Šustauskas headed the Kaunas department of the Lietuvos laisvės lyga movement (League of Freedom of Lithuania), which under his leadership was restructured in 1992 as the Lietuvos laisvės sąjunga movement (Union of Freedom of Lithuania) and was recognized as a political party since 1994.

Vytautas Šustauskas was married several times; he has 3 sons: Gintaras, Nerijus and Arnas.

Šustauskas is considered a scandalous politician and as such enjoys special media attention.
