The Wärschtlamo ( Upper Franconian for sausage man ) is a typical mobile sausage seller for the city of Hof . He sells Viennese sausages , Knackwurst , Weisswurst and farmers ( Debrecziner ) on the street. To equip a Wärschtlamo a rectangular, as are Bauchladen portable Wärschtlakasten from brass with a charcoal grill , a tin of mustard and a large basket with a handle for Bredla (Upper Franconia for bread ). In the kettle, the Wärschtla (Upper Franconian for sausages ) are heated in steam and then served in a Bredla (bread roll) with mustard. As a rule, the sausages are sold in pairs and without packaging. It is usually consumed in public spaces . The warming men are out Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings in Hof's old town.

In 1881 the first "Wärschtlamo", Johann Georg Hahn, with hot Hofer Wärschtla was sent out from a butcher's that still exists today . A memorial was erected to the Hofer Wärschtlamo at the Sonnenplatz.
