The Waschberg is a 401.7 meter high mountain in the lower Osterzgebirge northwest of Bräunsdorf in the district of central Saxony in Saxony, Germany.

The mountain consists for the most part of mica schist , in its foothills it merges into biotite gneiss in a south-easterly direction and into Grauwacke in a north-westerly direction and thus represents part of the edge area of the Ore Mountains towards the Saxon Loess Hills.

The Waschberg is located in the catchment area of the Great Striegis and is mainly used for arable farming, it is only used for forestry on the steeply sloping to steep, western slope facing the Striegistale. At the top of the mountain there is a trigonometric measuring point and the Bräunsdorfer water tower.

The Bräunsdorfer water tower has a height of 25 meters or, including the attached turret, 29 meters. The tower diameter is seven meters at the octagonal base and 5 meters at a height of 18 meters. Above this is the water storage area with a diameter of nine meters. The tower is crowned by a 30 cm high parapet divided into loopholes and a four meter high turret attached to the side, which is used for roof access. The two existing storage tanks inside each hold 30 cubic meters of water. The tower was built in 1906 as a steel frame construction from 24 cm thick steel girders. Between 1910 and 1913, the spaces between the steel girders were lined with bricks, as well as cladding and decoration with rough plaster in the neo-Romanesque-historic style.

The tower was supplied with water from a tunnel at the eastern foot of the Waschberg and served as a drinking water supply for the Bräunsdorf state institution (educational home). In 1997 the water system was shut down. The listed tower is now in a desolate condition. From the top of the water tower you can see the Leipzig Völkerschlachtdenkmal as well as the Fichtelberg and the Keilberg.
