Wömit Angel is a Finnish black metal , thrash metal and punk band from Tampere that was founded in 2010.
history
The band was formed in the early summer of 2010. In 2012, after the release of several demos , the debut album Sodomatik Rites of INRI was released via Inverse Records . In December 2014, drummer Ville “Vile Anarchy” Aatsinki left the line-up. After a break, Atomic Torment joined as the new drummer in July 2015. In the same year the second album Holy Goatse was also released via Inverse Records . In 2017, the third album followed via Ketzer Records under the name Impaling Force of Satan . This includes a cover version of I Kill Everything I Fuck , originally by GG Allin .
style
In his review of Sodomatik Rites of INRI , Luxi Lahtinen from voicesfromthedarkside.de wrote that the band is closely following the path of Impaled Nazarene's “Nuclear Metal” that the group began on their 1991 demo Taog Eht Fo Htao Eht . Wömit Angel's music sounds anarchistic , punk-hysterical and satanic . In contrast to Impaled Nazarene, the band sounds more punk, rockier and a little more melodic.
In an interview with Mandy Malon from Rock Hard , W. Horepreacher stated that the band tried to emulate their role models such as Venom , Bathory and Hellhammer , because the sound was "pure expression and simply brilliant". Malon had reviewed Impaling Force of Satan an issue earlier . The group play up a dirty, dull and barbaric mix of black and thrash metal and punk while singing about topics like sex , sodomy and Satan . The album is kept in the old-school style and comes up with "snotty riffs , insane vocal exudations and outrageous-wild solos ".
