Włodzimierz Wacław Kotowski (born June 28, 1928 in Starogard Gdański ) is a Polish university professor and engineer . He has made a name for himself above all in the field of environmental protection , chemistry and alternative energy generation .

Career

Kotowski initially completed technical training in Gdansk from 1947 to 1950 . After a few years as a chemist in a plant in Oświęcim , he began studying at the evening school in Kraków , which he graduated as an engineer in 1954. At the Polytechnic in Gliwice he obtained the academic degree of Magister , there followed in 1964 his doctorate and 1968 his habilitation . After completing his studies, he was appointed head of chemical plants in Kędzierzyn-Koźle . Between 1973 and 1976 he was director of a petrochemical refinery in Płock . In 1985 he began to work in teaching and in 1988 became professor at the engineering college in Opole , which he headed from 1987 to 1990 as rector.
