The WIS group of companies is a German security company based in Cologne.
history
Since there were no city guards in Cologne since 1895 , the need for security services and security in the population was great. In 1901 the merchants Kossmann and Steinberg founded the Cologne security and lock company. Starting from Cologne, branches were set up in other German cities. In 1905 there were 17 branches . In 1967 the Cologne based security company founded the company WIS Wirtschafts- und Industriesicherung , each with a branch in Bonn and Aachen . The name WIS originates from this time and was later used for the entire group of companies.
Corporate structure
The company employs around 4,000 people at 30 locations in Germany and Austria, generated annual sales of 140 million euros in 2017 and ranks eighth among the German security companies. The group includes various domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
